Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Cases

Areas of Practice

CRIMINAL DEFENSE

We deal with the issues surrounding an arrest, a criminal investigation, criminal charges, sentencing, appeals, and post-trial issues.

FELONY CHARGES

In Kentucky, a felony is a crime that is punishable by one year or more in state prison, and includes capital offenses, class A felonies, class B felonies, class C felonies, and class D felonies.

Civil cases

A civil case, more commonly known as a lawsuit or controversy, begins when a plaintiff files a document called a complaint with a court, informing the court of the wrong that the plaintiff has allegedly suffered because of the defendant, and requesting a remedy.

DUI / DWI

The abbreviations DWI/DUI are used interchangeably and refer to "driving while intoxicated" and "driving under the influence.”

MISDEAMEANOR CHARGES

In Kentucky, less serious crimes are called misdemeanors and are punishable by up to one year in jail.

PERSONAL INJURY CASES

Personal injury cases are legal disputes that arise when one person suffers harm from an accident or injury, and someone else might be legally responsible for that harm.

DRUG OFFENSES

We handle a variety of drug-related matters, from drug possession to drug trafficking and drug distribution.

FEDERAL CASES

We also represent individuals charged in federal court.

SLIP AND FALL CASES

"Slip and fall" is a term used for a personal injury case in which a person slips or trips and is injured on someone else's property. These cases usually fall under the broader category of cases known as "premises liability" claims.
